Tosin began working with children to learn communication, behavioral, and social skills. Tosin’s clinical training included Partial Hospital Programs (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient programs (IOP) focusing on anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma and substance use. She has worked in community mental health agencies, school districts, and private practices. Additionally, Tosin served as a counselor at a residential program providing individualized treatment for anxiety, OCD and OC related disorders.
Tosin utilizes an integrated approach when working with clients. Exploration and insight grounded in a psychodynamic understanding, particularly attuned to the experiences of marginalized populations whose backgrounds often shape the foundation of their lives. She incorporates skill-based interventions from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her work is often trauma-focused and deeply informed by feminist multicultural ideology. Tosin applies a person-centered framework that emphasizes the intersections of identity, systemic influences, and lived experiences. She adopts a holistic lens, addressing both the symptoms clients face and the broader systems that impact their well-being, fostering empowerment and healing.
As an immigrant, Tosin understands the barriers that block access for marginalized populations to therapy and her goal is to provide holistic therapeutic services and encouraging clients to bring their authentic self to sessions. Resistance and authenticity are part of Tosin’s growth and consciousness, she believes that we have a lot more power than we are made to realize. Tosin is passionate about working with Black/immigrant women, students, and clients navigating life transitions, grief, anxiety/depression and more.
Outside of her clinical work you can find Tosin repotting a new plant, spending time with her friends and family, and traveling to a new place.
